With over 60 years of turnkey Aerospace manufacturing experience, Beagle Aircraft is proud to provide the opportunity to enrol in a traditional craft apprenticeship.

With on-the-job training, our highly skilled team will ensure their extensive knowledge is passed down to the next generation of dedicated front-line engineers.

We provide both craft through to degree level apprenticeships, as well as training plans, working with a highly motivated and driven work force.  Manufacturing items for the latest generation aircraft!

Our current available positions are:

Estimating Engineer

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual to join us at a time of planned extended growth.

Since a considerable investment, Beagle are expanding and require a number of engineering roles. As an Estimating Engineer you will work through new and repeat quotes, using BOM and parts lists to create our pricing ready for submission to the customer. You would be working with Purchasing to gather material and AGS prices as well as communicating with customers and suppliers directly.

There is scope to adapt the skillset of the candidate, and to develop them to be able to assist in engineering planning. The ideal candidate would therefore be looking to increase their knowledge base and work in other areas of engineering such as working towards becoming an Estimating and Manufacturing Engineer, but this is not essential.

Duties will include:

  • Estimating Labour Hours and material costs, including tooling required for manufacturing components to customer’s requirements
  • Estimating type and cost of tooling required for manufacturing components to customer’s requirements
  • Identifying key processes required for component manufacture, and highlighting areas of concern or lack of capability
  • Work alongside the Purchasing department to get materials and AGS prices
  • Work through BOM/Parts lists to quote assemblies

This role requires the following skills:

  • Microsoft Excel proficient to a basic level
  • Experience working within the Aerospace industry
  • Sound understanding of drawing requirements and standards
  • Ability to understand the methods required to produce components
  • Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills

Preferable, but not essential knowledge:

  • Sheet metal part manufacture
  • Machined part manufacture
  • Composite parts manufacture
  • Aircraft assembly work
  • Metal treatments and finishes including heat treatments, Alocrom, Anodise and paint
  • Experience using CAD software

 

Sheet Metal Worker

Due to Continued planned growth, Beagle Aircraft are looking for a Sheet Metal Worker to join the team. Assisting with the production of sheet details to customer drawings and tooling.

Experience required

  • Experience in metallic areas, sheet metal forming, welding, resistance welding, and aerospace assembly structures
  • Essential experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • Ability to read aircraft drawings and specifications
  • Hand forming double curvature aluminium and steel aircraft parts

 

Semi-Skilled Operator

Beagle Aircraft are looking for a Semi-Skilled Operative to take on various work in the aerospace manufacturing environment. We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic individual who is looking to expand their skillsets and learn on the job.

Composite Operator

Due to continued planed growth Beagle Aircraft are recruiting experienced Composite Laminators. The ideal candidate should be an experienced or part-experienced operator with Laminating and tooling preparation across a broad range of Aerospace products.

Experience Required

  • Good knowledge of laminating processes for different materials used in creating a high-quality component
  • Wet or dry layup experience
  • Fitting and trimming composite components to specifications
  • Previous experience of laminating a broad range of composite materials
  • Maintaining component traceability and ensuring the highest quality standards with minimal scrap

 

Aircraft Fitter

In our expanding company we are looking for an Aircraft Fitter, experienced in the assembly of a range of aerospace products to customer specifications. Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments.

Experience Required

  • 3 Years+ experience of Aerospace mechanical fitting
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working within a high specification manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Jig Work
  • Relevant qualification or Time Served experience

 

Machine Setter Operator – Day and Twilight Shift

We are looking for a skilled VMC setter/operator to join our growing team at Beagle Aircraft. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn new skills, a solid team player and flexible in their approach.

Twilight Shift working week Monday to Thursday 1400 – 2345 (37 hours per week) Time and a third paid after 1800.

Experience required

  • Comfortable within an aerospace CNC environment
  • Have some experience with using Fanuc programming
  • Be self-sufficient in interoperating drawings and data provided
  • Using inspection equipment to verify parts
  • Experience in setting and operating vertical machining centres
  • Any CNC turning experience would be advantageous but not essential

 

Manufacturing Engineer

Due to continued planned growth, Beagle Aircraft are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team, Developing manufacturing methods on new aerospace product and defining processes for manufacturing.
